A life well-lived has come to an end, and we find ourselves reflecting on the passing of Rose Corrigan, a beloved member of our community. Rose, born Rose Moran, peacefully departed this world on October 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her journey began in Knockmoyleen, Ballycroy, County Mayo, and she later found a home in Peterborough, England.
Rose's life was intertwined with the lives of her loving family, and her passing has left an irreplaceable void. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John, and her parents, Denis and Sarah Moran. Rose's siblings, Mary Conmy, Jim, and John, as well as her nephew Paul Healy, have also passed on before her.
But here's where it gets controversial... Rose's family, although heartbroken, finds solace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her loved ones. Her daughters, Maureen, Caroline, and Sarah, and her son, John Paul, are left with the task of carrying on her legacy. Their hearts are heavy, but they find strength in the love and support of their partners: Ewhen, Michael, Richard, and Joanna. Together, they cherish the memories of their beloved mother and grandmother, Rose.
Rose's grandchildren, Ethan, Keira, Grace, Dylan, and Noah, will forever hold a special place in their hearts for their adored grandmother. Her sisters, Bridie Walsh, Ann Healy, and Patricia Hoban, along with their families, are also grieving the loss of their beloved sister and friend. The extended families, kind neighbors, and friends who knew Rose are all feeling the impact of her absence.
And this is the part most people miss... it's not just about the sadness of losing a loved one. It's about celebrating a life well-lived and the impact Rose had on those around her. Her kind and gentle soul will forever be remembered, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Rose's final resting place will be at Eastfield Cemetery, following a Requiem Mass at St. Peters and All Souls Catholic Church in Peterborough. Her family has invited friends and well-wishers to pay their respects at her home on Thursday, November 27, from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Published on November 21, 2025, this obituary has received an outpouring of love and condolences from the community. Eamonn and Annie Munnelly, John and Margaret Duffy, Anthony and Josephine Barrett, Kieran Ginty, and many others have expressed their deepest sympathies and shared heartfelt messages.
The controversy lies in how we choose to remember and honor those we've lost. Do we focus solely on the sadness, or can we find beauty in celebrating their lives? What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to share your reflections and memories of Rose in the comments below. Let's keep her memory alive and pay tribute to the impact she had on our lives.
