In recent weeks, Axis Communications has expanded its portfolio with several notable releases. The lineup now features an all-in-one AI-powered bi-spectral camera in a single PTZ body, combining dual thermal and visual surveillance. Alongside this, four next-generation AI-assisted bullet cameras promise superior image quality and richer forensic detail.
These new Axis IP cameras run on ARTPEC-9, Axis’s latest system-on-chip. The upgrade delivers accelerated performance, enabling sophisticated analytics to operate right at the edge rather than relying on a centralized server.
A key inclusion is AXIS Object Analytics, preinstalled to detect, classify, track, and count humans and various vehicle types. On top of that, Axis Edge Vault provides hardware-based cybersecurity with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure key storage and operation, helping to safeguard devices in increasingly complex threat landscapes.
AXIS Q6411-LE Bispectral PTZ
The AXIS Q6411-LE Bispectral PTZ combines thermal detection with visual verification. It supports the AV1 codec and offers boosted performance for rapid situational awareness. Beyond AXIS Object Analytics, it works with AXIS Perimeter Defender to enhance area detection through thermal sensing. It also features an orientation aid and Auto-Tracking 2 with click-and-track capabilities.

The four next-generation bullet cameras deliver exceptional image quality and forensic detail across challenging environments and weather. The AXIS P1475-LE and AXIS P1485-LE provide 2 MP resolutions, while the AXIS P1487-LE and AXIS P1488-LE push to 5 MP and 8 MP, respectively. The P1488-LE, featuring a large 1/1.2-inch sensor, maintains strong low-light performance. Features such as OptimizedIR enable reliable surveillance in complete darkness, and Axis Zipstream significantly reduces bandwidth and storage needs, translating to lower costs without compromising performance.
